Matt shares, "The goal of this internship is to learn the fundamentals of teaching young children art, create a learning environment that fosters creativity, enjoyment, and growth in each individual student, and to assist the teacher in the classroom. Assessing learning outcomes of each student will help me, as the intern, to understand more fully each child’s learning needs and how I can meet them better."

Matt’s reflection:

“Working with this age-group on art projects has been a truly meaningful and fulfilling experience. Helping children get better at the very thing I am most passionate about - artmaking - is a privilege, not a chore. Each child’s freedom, innocence, and eagerness to create and explore is something I can be inspired by in my own ‘artist’s journey.”
