"Claiming Your Truth" Sticker Contest Winners Announced

We are excited to announce the winners of the "Claiming Your Truth Sticker Contest"! An artistic project created by the blog's Creative Content Curator, Enaya Ogletree; featuring artwork by Max Sweeney, J.C Innocent, and Max Fyfe.

Max Sweeney is a multimedia artist whose work bubbles up in the friction between 21st century mechanization and biotic life. He creates expressionist paintings, ink drawings, comics, digital designs, falsified legal documents, and all manner of synthetic sludge. His work asks the question, who am I? who are you? where are we? what?

You can find their work on Instagram at @_.mxsy._ and on their website Super Tortis.

Statement from the artist: "I chose to participate in the sticker contest because I'd like to showcase some of the possibilities that come your way when you embrace the mystery of making and let uncertainty show you what you're capable of."

"The Contingency"- An acrylic painting I made when I found myself captivated by the growing artificiality of human bodies.

Artwork description left to right:"Trixz Only" and "Austentiger"- These are early versions of album covers I was asked to make for a small Singaporean rap duo.

Our second artist, J.C Innocent, is a Haitian-American visual artist and senior at MCLA, double majoring in Art and Arts Management. He creates under the name Insomnia to explore identity, media representation, and generational trauma.

Statement from the artist:

"I joined this sticker contest to promote his brand and showcase the range of aesthetics I love to work with. You can see more of my work at InsomniaArtworks.com."

Artwork descriptions left to right:

"Jojo Portrait" This piece celebrates Haitian identity through anime-inspired digital portraiture. It’s part of a larger effort to uplift Haitian voices and visibility within pop culture and global media.

"Insomnia Galaxy Lettering" This digital brand design reflects the energy behind Insomnia Artworks. I want the work to inspire people so deeply that they lose track of time—hence, staying up past bedtime.

"Bunny" A playful digital piece that allowed me to step away from my usual human portraits. Drawing cute animals was a fun way to experiment with digital textures and loosen up creatively.

Last, but certainly not least, Max Fyfe is a multidisciplinary artist exploring sustainability through sculpture, biomimicry, and design that bridges art, ecology, and the built environment. Max has participated in previous sticker contests on campus and enjoys being able to share his work in a format that multiple people can enjoy. You can find more of his work on his Instagram @max_fyfe_artworks.

Statement from the artist: "This digitally designed paper crane is something that may people have come to recognize as a sign that Max has been around. Paper crane along with many other pieces of Origami found around campus."

"Claiming Your Truth Sticker Contest" an initiative created of, by, and for MCLA students to spark campus engagement and promote the talented work of our Arts majors.
