Internship Overview:

The intern will also conduct independent research that will help strengthen the mission of the organization.
Reflection:
My time here at Assets for artist has been immensely beneficial to my overall skill set as well as my understanding of artist support organizations. What I enjoy most about my internship with A4A is the wide variety of work that I am tasked with. My responsibilities differ every week, which keeps me engaged, interested, and invested in what I am doing. My first week here, I was tasked with redesigning a lengthy grant application. It was my job to make the grant visually standout from the rest. I tested different fonts, layouts, and page designs to understand what was most readable while also aesthetically pleasing. I also added imagery and “pull quotes” to the grant to make it more visually stimulating. I have also had the opportunity to write thirty plus artist bios for the lucky individuals who have received the Assets for Artists Matched Savings Grant. Through this process I not only became a better writer, but as an artist myself, I learned what other artists in the field are planning for the future. I have a greater sense of where I would like to take my work and greater scope of what is possible. The learning outcomes of this internship have directly and indirectly impacted me. I am thankful for the experiences I have gained.
